Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of startstrongai.com and the Startstrong service (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Startstrong Does

Startstrong connects to services you authorize, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and a Canvas iCal feed, and uses that information to create a short planning brief. Depending on available features and your settings, the Service may display the brief or deliver it by email or text message.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has permitted you to use the Service and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. You may use the Service only where legally permitted.

3. Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account. You may not share an account in a way that compromises another person's data or connected services.

4. Connected Accounts

When you connect a third-party account or feed, you authorize Startstrong to access and use the information necessary to provide the features you request. You represent that you have the right to connect that account or feed. You can disconnect Google or Canvas through the Service, and you can separately revoke access through the applicable third-party service.

Startstrong is designed to process connected-account content temporarily, not to build a permanent archive of your inbox, calendars, course events, AI prompts, generated briefs, or text-message bodies. To operate scheduled delivery, Startstrong may retain the minimum account information, encrypted connection credentials, delivery settings, consent records, session information, and limited security or delivery metadata described in the Privacy Policy.

5. AI-Generated Briefs

Briefs are generated with automated systems and may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or incorrectly prioritized. Startstrong is an organizational aid, not the official record for your email, calendar, school, employer, or other service. Always check the original source before relying on a deadline, assignment, meeting, or important message. You remain responsible for your decisions, submissions, attendance, and other actions.

Startstrong does not maintain a permanent content history of AI prompts or generated briefs. Information sent to an AI service provider remains subject to that provider's business data terms and retention controls.

6. Email and Text Messaging Terms

You may ask Startstrong to send briefs to an email address you control. When text reminders are available, you may separately opt in by providing your mobile number and affirmative consent. Consent to texts is not a condition of purchase. Messages may be sent using automated technology and will contain planning briefs, reminders, or service information.

• Message frequency varies based on your reminder settings.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from text messages.
• Reply HELP for assistance or email support@startstrongai.com.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

You represent that you are the subscriber or authorized user of any phone number you provide. Tell us if the number changes or is reassigned.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not:

• Use the Service unlawfully or to violate another person's rights.
• Access an account, inbox, calendar, or feed without authorization.
• Interfere with, overload, probe, or bypass Service security.
• Upload malware or use automated means to scrape the Service.
• Resell the Service or use it to send spam or unwanted messages.
• Reverse engineer the Service except where law expressly permits it.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third parties such as Google, Canvas institutions, OpenAI, hosting providers, email systems, and future messaging providers. Their services and terms are separate from ours. We are not responsible for third-party outages, changes, data, retention practices, or decisions to restrict access. Our promise not to permanently archive source content describes Startstrong's own storage; third-party providers may temporarily process or retain information under their applicable terms.

9. Ownership and Feedback

Startstrong and its software, branding, and original content are owned by Startstrong or its licensors. You retain rights in information you provide and in content from your connected accounts. You give us a limited license to process that information only as needed to provide and secure the Service. If you submit feedback, we may use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

10. Beta Service and Changes

Startstrong is currently a beta product. Features may change, break, or be discontinued, and data may occasionally be lost. We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue all or part of the Service. We will try to provide reasonable notice when practical, but cannot promise uninterrupted availability.

11. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, abuse the Service, or if operating the Service is no longer practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Startstrong disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability. We do not guarantee that a brief or message will be correct, complete, secure, or delivered on time. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Startstrong and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, missed deadlines, lost profits, or loss of goodwill arising from the Service. Our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Startstrong in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the updated version and change the date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice when reasonably practical. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept them.
